The Valley of Dry Bones is an observational documentary film that follows Edna Barnett as she struggles to support her Pastor, Virginia Lee Davis, to rebuild a once-vibrant evangelical church and school in the economically ravaged neighborhood of East 93rd Street in Cleveland, Ohio. Flanked by abandoned homes, the church has now become the last stitch of fabric holding the community together. And, swirling above Edna is the 2008 Presidential election that may bring some hope. However, Edna’s good intentions to be a steward for the community is continuously thwarted by a declining church membership, a crumbling building and a Pastor who is slinking into a depression. With these mounting odds, Edna remains steadfast and resilient, because the church is more than just building for worship – the church is an agent for community fellowship.
