I heard a female cry and turned around to see a woman reaching out of a smashed window on the second story of a collapsed house. Her hair flew about as she waved her arms and screamed for help. She was evidently pinned under the joist. Below her, another voice screamed for help. But flames were already rising from that house. There was nothing I could do. What an unthinkable fate – to be burned alive! That such a hell can occur on this earth!
