All images are lent by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum for this special online exhibition, which marks the 75th Anniversary of the use of Atomic Bombs in Japan. These images were made to underline the horror of war of all kinds, but especially the cruelty of nuclear weapons, which kill masses of people indiscriminately while making cities uninhabitable. The bombs used in Japan were small in comparison with today’s hydrogen bombs, which if used on the city of Toronto could easily kill millions and leave the city uninhabitable for the foreseeable future.
