Photo of Yoshito Matsushige taken by Robert Del Tredici in Hiroshima.
Yoshito Matsushige was the only photographer who took pictures in Hiroshima the day the atom bomb exploded overhead. He could not bear to take more than five photographs that day, although he had with him enough film for twenty-four exposures. “Before I became a professional cameraman,” he told Robert Del Tredici, “I had been just an ordinary person.”
